WRITINGWEEK 1
Students will write a narrative paragraph from the first-person point of view of one of the characters from our readings. WEEK 2 Students will write an illustrative essay showing the importance of setting in stories from the reading. Students will complete a creating writing assignment about their childhood as a reflection using several points of view. WEEK 3 Students will write a paragraph where they compare the ways in which actions, speeches or comments of others are used to bring out the characters traits. Students will use examples from the readings. WEEK 4 Students will write a paragraph showing the symbolism in the setting from a story. WEEK 5 Students will write an illustrative essay comparing Neighbors to The Sandbox WEEK 6 Students will complete a creative writing assignment using descriptive words to attain a specific tone. WEEK 7 Students will use the Questions for Discovering ideas (pg 374) to write their essay. DUE IN WEEK 8 Students will complete a book report based on the individual novel they read. |
